- Angi reimagines how famous artists Van Gogh, da Vinci, Dali, and Edvard Munch may have styled their homes today
- Using the color palettes from their art, each room has been expertly rendered in 3D
Inspired by some of the most iconic works of art in history, home services company Angi has reimagined how famous artists’ homes might look if they were alive today.
Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’, da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’, Dali’s ‘The Persistence of Memory’, and Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’ were all given a modern-day home makeover using the prominent color palettes from each painting. Angi pulled the five dominant colors from each art piece and worked closely with an interior designer to create homes based on the art.
‘The Starry Night’ features a bold blue color palette and the Pantone Shade 293 C, which makes for an eye-catching modern-day living space. The interior designer reimagined a striking, blue-walled lounge with contrasting pops of yellow for a vibrant finish.
‘Mona Lisa’ is dominated by a medium-dark brown shade, closest matched to the Pantone Shade 732 C. It makes for a classic and sophisticated lounge style with traditional Chesterfield sofas and wooden fixtures and fittings.
‘The Scream’ is made up of contrasting orange, red and blue tones for a dramatic effect, heavily featuring the red Pantone Shade 173 C. An atmospheric terracotta shade helps bring a warm, bohemian vibe to this reimagined lounge.
‘The Persistence of Memory’ is one of Dali’s surrealistic masterpieces and showcases dreamy light blue and cream shades alongside a contrasting, orange-toned brown. The light cyan blue, which is closest matched to the Pantone Shade 659 C, helps bring a sense of lightness and calm to the reimagined living space.
Bailey Carson, home care expert at Angi, said of the designs:
“Color can have such an impact in creating a certain mood, theme or ambiance in your home. Artists are experts in colors and how they can make us feel, so where better to look for an interior design color palette than some of the most iconic historical artworks?”
“From the vibrancy of Van Gogh to the muted chic of Munch, even the most historic artworks can be used for modern day décor, and the interior designs created here provide the inspiration you need to bring your favorite artwork to life!”
