London, January 2023, serviced office provider, Boutique Workplace Company announces that it is to open a new location in Holborn – the famously ornate Holborn Town Hall. Committed to refurbishing iconic buildings rather than constructing new ones, this will be the first opening of 2023 after successfully opening six new locations in 2022 and one of the most articulate refurbishments for the flexible workspace company to date.
Opening its doors in March 2023, Holborn Town Hall will supply private office space on flexible terms to companies seeking office space to accommodate between 2-100+ employees. As with all Boutique Workplaces, it is a transparent all-inclusive package with access to business-grade Wi-Fi and no rental deposit is required. Tenants can expect 24-hour access to this iconic building and the flexible short-term agreements are inclusive of rent, business rates, utilities, service charge and buildings insurance.
With its attractive periodic features of high ceilings, natural light and French renaissance style, the Town Hall building was originally opened as a library in 1894 and has since also been used as a court room, a chamber of commerce and a restaurant. It was sold to clients of fund management business, Habro in 2021. Boutique Workplace Company has signed a hybrid lease agreement for 10 years. The company will now refurbish the property into multiple unbranded office spaces for occupiers to make their own.
Daniel Wheble, Chief Executive Officer of The Boutique Workplace Company, commented: “We are always searching for characterful good workspaces in the right location and Holborn is perfect for providing our tenants with an exclusive, curated space amongst the bright lights of the city. It is an exciting time within the flexible workspace industry and our latest signing shows that whilst we are still in our infancy, we are growing with customer demand. By next March, we are on track to increase our work stations by 77% and our square footage by 74% from pre-pandemic levels. As energy bills increase, working from home on a permanent basis is looking less attractive this winter, but workers still want that hybrid model that is a sustainable way to maintain their work/life balance.”
Originally designed by William Rushworth, this latest opening from Boutique Workplace Company highlights the company’s commitment to preserve heritage and national architectural treasures. With over 40 restorations under its belt, it aims to repurpose characterful buildings for a modern working lifestyle. When The Boutique Workplace Company restore a property, it refurbishes it to the exact standards that would be expected for the building’s architectural style. They then add crisp and clean modern elements to make it a comfortable space for tenants. Building facades, features and interiors are an important and key part of the appeal of working in a London-based property – because no one wants to work in an uninspiring office.
The new workspace has lift access, is dog friendly and comes with bike storage and shower rooms for use by all clients.
Holborn Town Hall is centrally located for access to Holborn and Tottenham Court Road Underground stations (Central, Piccadilly, Northern and Elizabeth lines), and has an abundance of bars, restaurants and pubs within proximity. A stone’s throw away from the heart of Soho and the midtown business district, as well as the theatre district of Covent Garden, Holborn Town Hall is ideally located to enjoy the hustle and bustle of London.
Nick Kertesz, Director – Head of Asset Management at Habro Properties, added: “In the current market long-term flexible lease agreements continue to be in demand, and we are delighted to be working with Boutique Workplace Company as they dominate the flex workspace industry. Holborn Town Hall is one of the most magnificent buildings in Midtown and a first-class destination for a company’s community to flourish.”
The Boutique Workplace Company currently operates over 30 workplaces across London.
