An assortment of Approved Members to major buying group in the electrical appliance and kitchen retail industry Sirius Buying Group, score big at this year’s Innovative Electrical Retailing Awards 2021 with eleven accolades awarded on the night! For 29 years, the Innovative Electrical Retailing (IER) Awards has been the leading event for the recognition of excellence in the sector – honouring everything from exceptional products and business pioneers to high street heroes and customer service champions. The winners were revealed on Friday, 1st October, where the IER Awards 2021 took place at The Park Plaza London Riverbank, and hosted by British comedian, Ian Moore, along with guest appearances from IER Magazine’s managing editor, Simon King, and colleague Linda Dorling, along with headline sponsors presenting a range of awards. Interestingly, a significant number of this year’s award-winners are Approved members to Sirius that have diversified their portfolio to include kitchen solutions, as well as electrical appliances. Consequently, the IER Awards 2021 saw Kellyvision in Peterborough crowned ‘Best Independent Retailer’ with Joe Graham in Luton presented with Highly Commended. Butlers Kitchens in Queensferry was Highly Commended in the independent kitchen showroom category with Borsch Ltd in Birmingham taking home two wins – ‘Best Independent Kitchen Showroom’ and ‘Best Independent Superstore Showroom’. Powerhouse in Jersey also came out on top, awarded the winner of ‘Best Large MDA Retailer’ and highly commended in the ‘Best Omnichannel Retailer’ category. The ‘Best Small MDA Retailer’ honoured Empire Appliances in Cannock as the winner and JJ Quinn Highly Commended. In recognition of the many rising stars in the electrical retail industry, winner of the ‘Best Young Gun’ award goes to Dougal Redford of Hosies, with Jon Evans at Evans Electrical taking home Highly Commended.
