Digital agency Organic has announced its recertification as a B corporation today, reaffirming its commitment to pursuing purpose as well as profit. Organic has been certified by B Lab for a second time (following their initial certification in 2019), having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.
The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of Organic’s operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. Organic continues to be part of a community of over 4000 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps.
The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. Organic’s impact score has increased by 28% since 2019, taking the agency to 104.6%. To complete the certification, Organic has legally embedded its commitment to purpose beyond profit in its company articles.
Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, says: “Celebrating Organic’s second round of certification is an exciting moment for us, as they continue to lead the way within the advertising services industry. We and the rest of the B Corp community are really pleased to see the agency recertify and continue to support the B Corp Movement.”
Ben Scoggins, CEO of Organic, adds: “We believe that digital can be a force for good, and we are committed to our purpose as a company – our joint responsibilities to our people, planet and profit. We’re really proud to have recertified as a B Corp, and we’re equally excited to continue the journey to improved societal impact.”
