Lux Island Resorts Ltd (“LIR”) promises guests lighter and brighter luxury hospitality that delivers the exceptional across some of the world’s most desirable destinations. Every moment of the guest experience matters, from booking right through to check-out.
Planet has been appointed by LIR as its partner to create a more enjoyable booking and payments experience by streamlining payment processes and increasing integration with LIR’s online booking platform for eight properties across Mauritius, the Maldives and Réunion.
Using its deep expertise in the hospitality sector Planet will deliver LIR a digital and payments journey which elevates guests’ expectations of a luxury hotel group.
Planet’s Pay by Link solution will provide a safe, convenient, and flexible way for guests to pay for their stay using their own device through a secure weblink. This saves time and frees-up reservation and hotel staff so they can dedicate more time to ensuring guests receive a memorable stay. It simplifies complex payments processes without the need for additional digital infrastructure.
In line with its vision for connected commerce, for online reservations, Planet’s payment services will be used in conjunction with the Sabre SynXis booking platform. Bookings made online will be automatically posted by Sabre SynXis into the Hotel’s PMS, where they are securely stored on file for future purchases. This increases the efficiency of LIR’s payment tracking and reconciliation and provides guests with a more enjoyable booking and payments experience as they won’t need to present their card details again during their stay.
A consistent, convenient and richer personalised experience is vital to driving guest loyalty. By enhancing the guests’ booking and payments experience, Planet can increase customer satisfaction and revenue for LIR.
LIR will also be able to leverage Planet’s global hospitality expertise and local technical and customer support teams, to ensure a market leading and consistent delivery of the solutions provided by the partnership.
Commenting on the announcement Steve O’Donovan, President, Hospitality and Partners at Planet said: “We’re delighted that LIR has chosen to appoint Planet to deliver feel-good connected commerce.
