- Event attended by key figures in Spanish architecture and design
Kronos Homes, the company that owns and operates the Algarve’s stunning Palmares Ocean Living & Golf and Amendoeira Golf Resort, has celebrated its eighth anniversary with the presentation of “The Meaning of Architecture”.
The exclusive film stars renowned architects Rafael de La-Hoz, the late Ricardo Bofill, Eduardo Souto de Moura, Rafael Aranda and Carme Pigem from RCR Arquitectes studio – artists whose works have already left a significant legacy in the history of architecture.
“Kronos Homes celebrates its 8th anniversary and with it we mark a chapter and welcome a very special number. Eight symbolizes the continuous cycle between the beginning and the end, the constant rebirth and everything that transcends its limits. In these years we have consolidated as a company, our projects are already a reality; houses have become homes, we have grown as a company, and we have built an identity around our most defining feature: a passion for architecture. For this reason, we shared a documentary we produced as a tribute to architecture.”
The “Meaning of Architecture” showcases the innovative vision of its contributors, who between them have developed a range of outstanding projects for Kronos Homes in recent years.
Madrid’s Teatro Real provided a stunning backdrop for the screening. Attendees included contributors to the documentary, including Ricardo Bofill’s son, Pablo Bofill. In total, more than two hundred people from the world of architecture and design gathered at the event.
The film features figures including Rafael de La-Hoz, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Rafael Aranda from RCR Arquitectes, who share what architecture means to them. Kronos Homes’ Saïd Hejal explains, “We want to leave a legacy to society through our passion for architecture, which we consider art.”
Rafael de La-Hoz comments, “Architecture is a way of interpreting, of seeing the world,” while Rafael Aranda of RCR Arquitectes adds that, “Architecture is not a means of living, it is a way of life because what we want to create are places of life.”
Eduardo Souto de Moura, meanwhile, explains that he sees architecture as a service, explaining: “What I want is to know if I have contributed to people’s happiness.”
The celebration included some of Kronos Homes’ most honoured collaborators. The event was presented by model, businesswoman and brand ambassador Eugenia Silva, who shares a passion for architecture.
