Following a period of sustained and significant growth, VCL Vintners, London’s leading whisky cask broker among millennial investors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Kennard as CFO. Mr Kennard’s appointment initiates a new phase in the company’s strategy of gaining market share of the UK’s investment-grade whisky casks and delivering a premium experience to investors.
Mr Kennard brings strategic, financial, and operational skills from businesses focused on luxury products to VCL Vintners’ finance team, complementing Directors Benjamin Lancaster and Stuart Thom expert understanding of the whisky cask market and the needs of alternative asset investors.
A BDO-qualified Chartered Accountant, Mr Kennard has extensive experience in the consolidation of financial divisions and dealing with multiple business locations in the UK and abroad, boding well for VCL Vintners’ anticipated expansion of its global operations. He has previously served as a Finance Director at Kanye West Ltd and acted as a chartered accountant for a variety of high-fashion brands. A serial entrepreneur in his own right, Mr Kennard also strengthens the company’s leadership team with significant commercial experience, having previously founded several businesses specialising in luxury products ranging from artisan vegan chocolate to property developments.
VLC Vintners’ strong performance with millennial investors in particular will see the company turning over next year in excess of £25m, with major expansion abroad and the introduction of its e-commerce platform. The appointment of a new CFO is a timely development which supports the company’s growth and expansion of its financial systems and controls. With his unique blend of financial and commercial experience, Mr Kennard is well placed to help navigate VCL Vintners through the exciting next phase awaiting the company.
