DO I STILL NEED A TEST COMING BACK INTO THE UK?

Yes! And lateral flow tests are flexible and affordable

13th January 2022: Currently, all travellers who have been double vaccinated, and are returning to the UK from business travel, holidays or urgent trips abroad require a 2-day verified lateral flow test. These are for everybody coming back into the country, including children over the age of 5. People who are unvaccinated or have only had one vaccination will still need a PCR test. 

These 2-day tests should be taken within 48 hours of return into the UK need to be supervised in-clinic or via post where they can be verified by clinicians and a certificate issued.

  • Lateral flow postal service. Test is validated via online uploader and certificate sent within 3-8 hours depending on time of day of upload – £19
  • Lateral flow tests in pack of x5 for general use (to ascertain covid status) are available via the post (order online for next day delivery or pick up from one of the clinics listed above) – £29

The government has changed their Covid-19 rules and regulations. Starting on Sunday 9th of January, vaccinated travellers and those aged under-18 arriving into the UK will no longer need to take a test two days before travelling to England from countries outside the UK and the Common Travel Area. They will only have to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test on day 2.

This arrival test must be bought from a private test provider – free NHS tests are not allowed.

Unvaccinated passengers will need to continue to take a pre-departure test, PCR tests on day two and day eight, and self-isolate for 10 days. Please check the government website before booking your tests. 

If you are travelling from a Non-Red Country and you are double vaccinated:

  • Take a Lateral Flow test on or before Day 2 after your return to the UK
  • Complete a UK Passenger Locator Form on arrival or within 48 hours of arrival
  • Have proof that you have been fully vaccinated and your final dose of vaccine was received at least 14 full days before the day you arrive in the UK

If you are travelling from a Non-Red Country and you are NOT double vaccinated:

  • Take a PCR test on or before Day 2 after your return to the UK
  • Take a PCR test on or before Day 8 after your return to the UK
  • Complete a UK Passenger Locator Form on arrival or within 48 hours of arrival
  • Self-isolate at home, or at the address that put on your Passenger Locator Form where you are staying in the UK, for 10 days
  • You may also book a Day 5 Test to Release test, however, this is optional

If you are travelling from a Red Country:

  • Take a PCR test on or before Day 2 after your return to the UK
  • Take a PCR test on or before Day 8 after your return to the UK
  • Quarantine for 10 days in a hotel after your return to the UK
  • Complete a Passenger Locator Form
