October 2022: Luxury hospitality group, Cheval Collection, with properties across London and Edinburgh, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month. Since the group acquired its first property in 1982 in Cheval Place in the heart of Knightsbridge, Cheval Collection has continued to expand, now welcoming around 30,000 guests through the doors of its 12 properties on an annual basis.

To celebrate the anniversary and the group’s growth over the past four decades, Cheval Collection has planned a month-long series of activities and a prize draw giveaway. Guests who make a reservation during the month of October will be entered into the draw to pay rates at room values equivalent to what they were in 1982, with 40 room nights to be given away for up to 10 winners.

Since the start of 2020 alone, the Cheval Collection has grown from eight properties to 12, representing a 35% growth in total apartment inventory, with brand expansion in London and Edinburgh, where Cheval currently operates 675 apartments in the two cities. They launched their second brand, Cheval Maison and its first property, Lexham Gardens in Kensington during the summer of 2021. A second Cheval Maison is set to open in early 2023 in Dubai, Cheval Maison – The Palm Dubai, marking the first international property for the Collection, followed by a third Cheval Maison property in Glasgow in 2025. A third brand, MY Locanda, launched in early 2022, with its first property also set to open in Glasgow in 2024.

Cheval Collection are also calling upon key figures from the company’s past, present and future, including previous CEO George Westwell, to participate in a series of 40 quick question style videos to be shared on Cheval’s social media channels.

John Philipson, chief operating officer for Cheval Collection, said: “We have had a busy 40 years building the Cheval Collection into the luxury group that it is today. Our brands continue to be popular among travellers looking for high-end alternatives to hotels, offering more freedom and flexibility, whilst catering to their needs and lifestyle. We are very much looking forward to celebrating 40 years, and believe its key to thank our guests for choosing us throughout the years.

“It’s been an exciting journey so far. We’re thrilled to be expanding internationally this year, and we look forward to the next decade for continued growth and expansion.”
